HUPOMENOMEN

We will endure!

(4-4-04)

Jude 17-25

What do people who endure hold on to? What do you hold on to? Is holding on, persevering, enduring a commanded of you by your Lord Jesus? (Rev.3:10) “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” It is true that we are obligated by our relationship to Jesus to endure, to hold on, to commit to finish.

Paul was an excellent example of one who was committed to the goal, his eternal home with Jesus. He was determined to run the course laid before him. (Phil.3:12-14) Paul also calls us to endure with him by what he wrote to Timothy  2TI 2:12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;” Paul also calls attention to the alternative to enduring. Jesus is the anchor of our trust. He must be!

Paul told the Colossian Church that he had been and was continuing to pray for them in a very powerful way. I am willing to trust that Jesus honored his request on behalf of the Church. (Col.1:9-14)

Jesus gives us a parable to open our hearts and minds to the prospect of his future for us. (Lk.8:11-17) 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” Is your heart noble and good? If yes then persevere and produce.  (Isa.46:3-5; Acts 26:22-23; 2Cor.1:9-11) Jesus is the hope to which we cling. He is our rock and strong fortress. By his grace - HUPOMENOMEN
